Keynote Speaker
Steve Hildebrand is the Founder and CEO of the Promising Futures Fund, a non-profit focused on supporting students and staff in 21 high-poverty schools in the Sioux Falls School District and 3 elementary schools in Rapid City.
Hildebrand owned and operated Josiah’s Coffeehouse, Café and Bakery, a popular downtown spot. During his time at Josiah’s, Hildebrand advocated for people living in poverty, fighting for a higher minimum wage for workers and running a successful campaign to eliminate predatory payday lenders in South Dakota.
After college at SDSU, Hildebrand spent 28 years as a campaign operative and political consultant for Democratic candidates and progressive causes. In 2007-2008, he served as Deputy National Campaign Manager for Barack Obama’s historic campaign. Steve was an original architect of the Obama for President campaign.
